ART PUPPETER Vera Bochar
Zaporizhia, Ukraine
I was born in the wonderful Ukrainian city of Zaporozhye. She graduated from a technical college, I have a technical education, but from early childhood I loved to knit, embroider, sew a little. In 2010, I discovered the wonderful world of dolls!
I started with textile dolls (tildes, primitives, Waldorf dolls). I tried various materials and techniques. With pleasure I discovered papier-mâché – amazing material for creating figurines, animal figures and even dolls! Recently, I have been paying more attention to baked plastic dolls and self-hardening polymer clay. These materials allow you to create dolls with unique features, embody all fantasies and ideas of the author into reality.
I enjoy participating in exhibitions and festivals: the annual international doll salon and teddy “Modna Lyalka” in Kiev (2013-2019); festival “MEDVIN: Needlework and Hobby” in Kiev (2012); Permanent participant of annual puppet shows in Zaporizhia (2011-2019). In 2016 my personal exhibition “Vidlugnya” took place in Zaporizhia. My dolls were presented in such projects as: “NukuKunst”, Tallinn (2017); “Ob’dnanі natkhnennyam” Ivano-Frankivsk (2017); “Divoptakhi” Kiev (2017); “Kazkovі fit” Kiev (2018); “Time. In the art “Kiev (2018); “Lyalkovy Podium”, Kiev (2018). I am the organizer and participant of the “Crossroads” exhibitions in the “Faeton”, “Puppet Vernissage” and “Lyalkovo Lito” equipment museum in Zaporizhia (2012-2019).
